As I searched for any new footage of Brian Jonestown Massacre/Anton Newcombe interview, I found that someone had uploaded a bunch of songs from one of Anton’s band before the BJM called ‘homeland.’ The Youtube user brantgraff writes that they are from the self-titled cassette from 1989. Anton on vocals, keyboards, and percussion; Mike Kubisty on bass, cello, and guitar; Greg Derfer on guitar and bass; Brad Wilson on drums, percussion, and guitar; Patrick Spike Park on violin. Sounds pretty groovy (similar parts to BJM songs) and like something which I would listen to after having a few beers and an emotional breakdown… you know, like a usual Saturday night. Here I compiled them for one transcendent(?) listening experience… ha
