Spring is here and I am on a mission to explore as much of the lower mainland’s parks and green spaces as possible. Not only because I love being outdoors and basking in the warm sun, but I LOVE to take pictures with my Canon Rebel T3! And when the sun is about an hour before setting, the light is gorgeous and pictures are almost guaranteed to have a warm glow encompassing whatever subject you’re trying to capture.
My original goal was just to walk to Don Christian Elementary, but this trip ended up being 2 hours long as I discovered a small part of Cloverdale I have never before explored! I can’t believe I’m saying that, considering I grew up here! But that’s the great thing about walking: time loses all meaning and you begin to discover new places!
The above map is an ad hoc idea of my path, considering I wasn’t really paying attention to road signs. Somewhere between 56 and 60 ave there are small hill-y park paths that go around a school and a golf course. All I know for sure is that I somehow ended up on Highway 10 after wandering from 188th. Highways and speeding vehicles sure are scary when you’re a pedestrian!
Regardless of the path I took, I encourage you to explore the area as I saw plenty of birds, new spring buds, and even a rabbit! A handful of people were out enjoying the scenery, but it wasn’t crowded at all. Anyway, try to get out of the house this spring and I hope you like the photos!
